Edmond Sun, “Notable-Someone To Know”
Gov. Mary Fallin has appointed Gean Atkinson of Edmond to the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission.
The nomination requires Senate confirmation. Atkinson replaces Melvin Moran who has resigned, as the Fifth Congressional District retpresentative. Atkinson is the president of Atkinson Advertising Associates, Inc., one of the country’s completely Native American-owned agencies. He earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma. His communications experience was in the military, political and corporate arenas.
